SA100: Stone Adhesive

SA100 is a 100% acrylic-based product specially designed by Urban Stone Co. in Dallas, TX. This item is to be mixed one to one weight with Portland cement to achieve a mixture that can be used as an adhesive for natural thin stone, or manufactured cultured stone.

Application

The back of the stone and scratch coat should be moistened with the surfaces appearing damp, but free of standing water. Using a trowel, apply the adhesive to the back of the stone, covering at least 90% of the surface area of the stone, to a nominal thickness of half an inch. The covered stone should be firmly worked onto the scratch coat and slid slightly back and forth to set the stone. Clean off any excess material around the perimeter of the stone before continuing.

Working Time

The average working time is one and a half hours, depending on the ambient conditions.

Coverage

The coverage area is 110 to 140 square feet. It is approximate and will vary depending on the substrate used, the details and the individual application.

Storage

Keep the adhesive in a dry, cool area protected from the weather. The adhesive should be protected from freezing, and stored in a tightly sealed container, when not in use.

Cautions and Limitations

Do not apply during freezing weather, or on frozen substrates. You must not also apply the stone materials when the temperature is expected to fall below 40° Fahrenheit, within a 24-hour period.

This product is subject to a written, limited warranty which can be obtained, free of charge, from Urban Stone Co. SA100 is to be applied in accordance with all manufacturers’ specifications. Urban Stone Co. is unable to accept responsibility for job conditions, workmanship, climate, or damages due to transport.
